What hospice care really means
Hospice is specialized care for someone facing a life-limiting illness, care focused on comfort, presence, and quality of life rather than cure. It’s about easing the journey for everyone in the family, not just the patient.
At Halo Healthcare, our hospice program is led by registered nurses and shaped around what matters most to your family. Most services are covered fully under the Medicare Hospice Benefit, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans.
Our services
Hospice isn’t one service. It’s a circle of support that surrounds patients and families with everything they need to feel cared for, comfortable, and at peace.
Clinical Care
Skilled medical support.
Personal Care
Daily comfort and dignity.
Emotional Support
The human side of care.
Practical Support
Easing the load on families.
Our RNs oversee every plan of care, working closely with your physician. On-call support is available around the clock.
Our medical director collaborates with your existing doctors to keep care consistent and aligned with your family’s wishes.
Comfort is the heart of hospice. Our team manages pain, breathing, nausea, and other symptoms, quickly and gently.
We coordinate medications related to your loved one’s hospice diagnosis: delivery, instructions, and ongoing management.
What to expect
From the first conversation to ongoing support after a loss, here’s the path families typically walk with us.
A call or visit, on your time. No pressure, no obligation. We listen first.
Our team coordinates with your physician to confirm hospice is the right fit and the right time.
Together we shape a care plan around your family’s wishes, faith, and what brings comfort.
Regular visits from our team, plus a real person on the phone any hour, any day.
After a loss, we continue to walk with the family, for months, however long is needed.
Eligibility
Hospice is generally appropriate when a serious illness is no longer responding to curative treatment, and the focus shifts to comfort and quality of life. Many families wait longer than they wish they had, and sometimes a brief conversation can bring real clarity.
If you’re unsure, please reach out. We’ll listen, answer your questions honestly, and help you understand your options, with no pressure.

Halo Healthcare’s hospice team provides care in:
Private homes
Assisted living communities
Skilled nursing facilities
Inpatient & respite care Common questions
Most families don’t think about hospice as early as they could. It’s appropriate when a serious illness is no longer responding to curative treatment, but you don’t have to wait for that moment to call. A brief conversation can bring real clarity, and we’d rather talk early than late.
Almost always, no. Hospice care comes to wherever home is: a private home, an assisted living community, a nursing facility. The goal is to bring care to the person, not move the person to the care.
The Medicare Hospice Benefit covers virtually everything related to your loved one’s hospice diagnosis, including nursing visits, aide services, medications, equipment, and bereavement support, usually with no out-of-pocket cost. Our intake team will walk you through the details.
Often the same day. Our team coordinates with your physician, completes the eligibility review, and can have a nurse out within hours when families need us urgently.
Care doesn’t end. Our bereavement program continues to support families for months after a loss, through grief, practical questions, and the slow road back. As long as you need us, we’re here.
Whether you're exploring options for a loved one, a caregiver looking for guidance, or a clinician making a referral, we'll be on the other end.
A real person, every hour, every day.
